About the Role
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support analytics, reporting, and business operations. This role works closely with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure high‑quality, reliable, and accessible data across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and optimize data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Develop scalable data solutions using SQL, Python, and cloud technologies.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for data storage and processing.
- Support analytics teams by providing clean, well‑structured datasets.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
- Hands‑on experience with Python or Scala for data processing.
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks.
- Experience with cloud data services (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery).
- Understanding of API integrations and data ingestion frameworks.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to real‑time data streaming tools (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
