Data Engineer

Your role in the team

• You can expect a versatile role with us, where you will actively shape the technical development of a central data platform.
• You independently take on clearly defined work packages and contribute to the development of stable, scalable data structures.

Implementation & Standardization of Data Pipelines

• Development and further enhancement of Data Pipelines and Data Products within the platform context.

Integration of data sources

• Connecting new data sources as well as structured integration into existing data architectures.

Development of ETL/ELT pipelines

• Design and implementation of robust data processing workflows for transforming raw data.

Preparation of data structures

• Conversion of raw data into usable, consistent data models.

Ensuring Quality & Operations

• Establishment of monitoring, quality assurance, and technical safeguarding of stable operational processes.

Participation in standards

• Application of existing technical standards as well as support in further development of robust platform structures.

Our expectations:

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Python, SQL, Git, Docker, and CI/CD; familiarity with Kafka, API integrations, data ingestion, monitoring, and cloud technologies is desirable, as well as ideally good German skills and business-fluent English skills (C1).
• Technically oriented profile with a focus on platform topics; structured and solution-oriented working style, sense of responsibility, and the ability to deliver results independently within clear frameworks.

Experience

• Several years of experience in Data Engineering as well as in implementing productive data pipelines; experience in building and operating data platforms (ideally in cloud environments); solid understanding of automation, reusability, deployment, and operations.

Education

• Completed training in the IT field, e.g., as an IT specialist (m/f/d) or a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, or Data Science, or a comparable qualification.
