Duties

• Develop, implement, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate seamless data integration from diverse sources such as AWS, Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, and Oracle databases.
• Design and maintain scalable data warehouses using SQL Server, Apache Hive, Spark, and other big data tools to support analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into efficient data models and database designs.
• Build and manage APIs using RESTful principles to enable secure data sharing across platforms.
• Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, Bash (Unix shell), and VBA for scripting automation tasks and model training workflows.
• Conduct analysis of large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Support agile development practices by participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and continuous integration efforts to ensure timely delivery of data solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Data Lake for scalable data storage and processing.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, or similar relational databases along with database design skills.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies including Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, Hive), Spark, and Talend or Informatica for ETL processes.
• Familiarity with Looker or other BI tools for creating dashboards and visualizations that communicate insights effectively.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash shell scripting, VBA, and Shell Scripting for automation purposes.
• Understanding of RESTful API development for secure data exchange between systems.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies to promote iterative development and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets critically while demonstrating strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
