TotalEnergies is one of the world's leading energy companies. In a context of technological change and digital transformation, you will work within the DataLab to support the Excellence/KM entity in consolidating and evolving its generative AI tool (Bookfeeder), developed in 2025.

The Excellence/KM department plays a role in capitalizing on the knowledge of the Geoscience and Reservoir (G&R) professions.

The DataLab is an interdisciplinary project aimed at facilitating document management using cutting-edge data science and artificial intelligence techniques.

This dual affiliation will be an asset for experimenting and applying digital topics in a field that manages a large amount of data.

You will benefit from the full experience of an interdisciplinary team composed of data managers, R&D members, IT project managers, IT experts, Product Owners, and experienced data scientists.

Reporting to the Excellence/KM team and hosted within the DataLAB, you will participate in the rituals and meetings of both the Data Science and Knowledge Management in Geoscience and Reservoir entities.

• Share with data science teams on projects in natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, large language models (LLM), and multimodal search
• Optimize Bookfeeder data processing workflows to improve its performance and overall efficiency
• Monitor and debug pipelines to resolve data-related issues.

Technical Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines for BookFeeder (a tool for extracting parameters describing an oil or CO2 storage field from a documentary corpus)
• Obtain structured information (values and units) from unstructured data (a documentary corpus – reports) within a high-performing, shared, and streamlined ecosystem (AI components, Data Science pipeline, and scientific computing infrastructure).

Have you recently graduated with a Master's degree / Bac +5 in Computer Science / Data Science? Start your career with a stimulating experience at the heart of international teams committed to the energy transition.

We are looking for a Data Engineer for a duration of 12 months, starting from April 2026.

Are you comfortable with programming and technical environments? You master Python, have solid programming experience, are comfortable under Linux, and have notions of API Architecture.

Initial exposure to geosciences would be appreciated to better understand business challenges.

Are you autonomous, rigorous, and a good team player? Your curiosity and analytical skills will be essential for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Are you comfortable in English? You will be required to regularly prepare technical documents in English.

What We Offer

We offer you a full-time professionalization contract of 12 months (100% in the company) including training (technical, linguistic, tools...). These trainings are provided internally by organizations selected by TotalEnergies.
