About the role
Join the University of Toronto's Acceleration Consortium as a Data Engineer. Manage complex data infrastructures to support groundbreaking research in AI and materials science while optimizing ETL/ELT processes.
This full-time position reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with Research Associates. The Data Engineer will utilize their expertise in ETL/ELT pipelines, database management, and programming to enhance research initiatives. Key responsibilities include business requirements reconciliation, database optimization, and software design for complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile business needs with information architecture requirements
- Optimize database software for performance and efficiency
- Develop quality control procedures for data integrity
- Design and implement technical software architecture
- Plan and lead IT project initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field
- 5 years of Data Engineering experience in technology or research
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and ETL tools
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing solutions
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
