About
The Data Governance & Data Management (DGDM) team defines and enforces the rules, controls, and lifecycle policies that govern data within Stellantis' connected vehicle scope. As the team develops its ambitions – from applying data retention policies to automating DSARs, to self-service analytics and large-scale access control – it needs a dedicated technical expert to design and build the infrastructure to operationalize data governance on Databricks.
We are looking for a Junior Data Management Specialist to join our Data Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data access requests, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, and contributing to the improvement of data management processes through tools and automation in a Databricks environment.
Responsibilities
Access Management:
- Process and manage internal stakeholder data access requests.
- Manage user permissions and roles within Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Ensure access rights are granted in accordance with data governance and security policies.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of access rights and permissions.
- Collaborate with data owners and data stewards to validate access requests.
Process & Tools Improvement:
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current access management process.
- Contribute to the automation and optimization of access management workflows.
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of tools (e.g., ticketing systems, self-service portals).
- Document processes and maintain up-to-date procedures.
Support for Data Governance & Data Quality Teams:
- Support the Data Governance team in applying data policies and standards.
- Contribute to the management of the data catalog and metadata.
- Participate in data quality monitoring.
- Contribute to initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
- 1 to 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or equivalent field.
- Good command of Python or scripts applied to data management.
- Experience with workflow automation tools (pipelines, jobs in a data environment).
- Basic knowledge of the Databricks platform (Unity Catalog, access management).
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
- First experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
- Understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) concepts.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra) is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Master's degree (Bac +5) in computer science, data engineering, data management, or a related field.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in data management, data engineering, or a similar field.
- Initial knowledge (academic or professional) of data governance frameworks is a plus.
