As a Data Engineer III - Big Data/Java/Scala at JPMorgan Chase, you will join the Corporate & Investment Bank Treasury team to design and implement the next generation buildout of a cloud‑native liquidity risk (LRI) management platform for JPMC. The Liquidity Risk Technology organization provides comprehensive solutions for managing the firm’s liquidity risk and meeting regulatory reporting obligations across 50+ markets. The program includes the strategic buildout of advanced liquidity calculation engines, incorporation of AI and ML into liquidity risk processes, and digital‑first reporting capabilities. The target platform must process 40‑60 million transactions and positions daily, calculate risk presented by the current actual as well as model‑based “what‑if” market states, build a multidimensional picture of corporate risk profile, and provide real‑time analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to improve automation value.
• Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision‑making for secure, stable application development.
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.
• Contribute to the team’s drive for continual improvement of development processes and innovative solutions to meet business needs.
• Apply appropriate dedication to support business goals through technology solutions.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Strong 8+ years of hands‑on development experience with in‑depth knowledge of Scala, Spark, and big‑data related technologies.
• Hands‑on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with Snowflake and Databricks.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.
• Ability to work closely with stakeholders to define requirements.
• Interaction with partners across feature teams to collaborate on reusable services that meet solution requirements.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Experience working in big‑data solutions with evidence of ability to analyze data to drive solutions.
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS).
