What you'll be working towards

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a UK Central Government client on a critical data platform initiative. This is a high-impact role within a live, operational environment, focused on strengthening and scaling data pipelines that underpin essential services. There is strong potential for extension.

The role offers hybrid working, with occasional travel to Manchester as required.

You'll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising data pipelines, working closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams to ensure reliable, scalable data flows across complex systems.

What you'll be doing: • Designing, building, and optimising ETL pipelines across large-scale datasets • Developing and maintaining data workflows using Azure Data Factory • Ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance across integrated systems • Integrating data from multiple sources into consistent, usable datasets • Supporting live service operations through efficient and resilient data processing • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable data solutions

About you: • Proven experience as a Data Engineer working on complex, data-driven platforms • Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Python, ETL processes, and Data Factory • Experience working with live services and large, multi-source datasets • Comfortable working in public sector or highly regulated environments • Able to translate technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions • Active SC Clearance is preferred
