Engineering Manager – Data Strategy & Analytics

QBrainX is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Data Strategy & Analytics to lead the design, development, and execution of scalable data platforms and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Architecture

• Define and execute the organization’s data strategy roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures leveraging Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Establish best practices for data modeling, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Lead modernization initiatives including migration to cloud-native data platforms.

Hands-On Engineering Leadership

• Act as a player-coach: actively contribute to design, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Build and optimize data pipelines, ELT/ETL workflows, and real-time data processing systems.
• Ensure efficient use of Snowflake (performance tuning, cost optimization, data sharing, security).
• Leverage GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Composer.

Problem Identification & Solution Design

• Proactively identify engineering bottlenecks, scalability issues, and technical debt.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into structured engineering solutions.

Team Leadership & Offshore Management

• Lead and manage a team of Data Analytics Engineers, including an offshore team based in India.
• Establish clear ownership models, SLAs, and delivery expectations across geographies.
• Drive agile delivery processes, sprint planning, and backlog prioritization.
• Mentor team members, conduct performance reviews, and foster career growth.
• Ensure strong communication governance between onshore and offshore teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and leadership to align data initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Provide regular updates on roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with real-time data streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Looker, DOMO).
• Familiarity with ML/AI data pipelines.
• Experience in cost optimization strategies for cloud data platforms.
• Prior experience in consulting or client-facing roles
• Strong expertise in Engineering Management and Team Leadership to guide and inspire diverse teams
• Proficiency in Software Development and Integration with hands-on experience in delivering technical solutions
• Proven ability in Project Management to oversee timelines, resources, and outcomes effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with stakeholders and team members
• Experience working in global and cross-functional teams is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
