Calimoto is growing – and with us, the amount of data generated daily through our app, our users, and our business. As calimoto's first Data Engineer, you will build a data infrastructure that consolidates existing data and enables informed decisions for product, marketing, and business. You will be responsible for two key areas: our tracking setup and the development of a modern business analytics platform. You will work closely with the CTO and the marketing, growth, and product teams.
This is a proactive role. You will play a key role in shaping how we work with data at calimoto.
Your tasks
Tracking plan & data integrity:
- You will further develop our existing tracking plan.
- You ensure that events from Android, iOS, web, and backend are captured correctly and consistently.
- You define tracking standards and support the teams in their implementation.
- You identify data gaps early and ensure they are fixed.
Business Analytics Platform:
- You will further develop our analytics platform with the goal of enabling self-service for teams.
- You build scalable data pipelines all the way to the dashboard.
- You make pragmatic decisions regarding tools and architecture together with the relevant teams.
- You ensure data quality, governance, and documentation.
- You support teams with analyses and reduce manual requests through self-service.
What should you bring?
- 3+ years of experience with data-intensive systems (Python, SQL + other languages such as Typescript, Rust or Java)
- Knowledge of BigQuery, other cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and data pipelines (e.g., Stackstorm, Airflow)
- Experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude) and mobile attribution (e.g., AppsFlyer). Experience with event tracking and structured tracking plans.
- Understanding of data protection (GDPR) and data security
- Independent, structured work style with ownership
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the B2C environment with a mobile focus
- Knowledge of marketing analytics (e.g., app stores, paid ads)
- Experience with BI tools (e.g. Grafana, Looker, Tableau)
