Data Engineer/ Scientist

About the Role

In the role of Data Engineer/ Scientist in the department, you combine the characteristics of a Data Scientist and a Data Engineer. You are directly involved in the core business of the insurance company and work hand in hand with actuaries and modeling experts to master exciting challenges and have a real impact on AXA's business.

What to Expect

• Concept, implementation, and operation of Smart Data projects from raw data to the finished product
• Selection, design, and development of technologies and tools for Data Science applications
• Building and further developing our cloud-based data modeling infrastructure
• Working with Open Source tools and the ability to adapt and further develop them independently
• Opportunity to develop in a wide variety of current technologies and attractive career options
• Communication with relevant interfaces within the group
• Close networking with other software engineers, data scientists, and actuaries in the group (national and international)

What You Bring

• You have a Master's degree with very good results, ideally even a PhD, in a STEM field or a comparable field of study.
• You have advanced knowledge of SQL and database systems.
• You are enthusiastic about state-of-the-art technologies such as Python, Docker, Snowflake, Power BI, etc.
• You are interested in learning new, unknown technologies and sharing this knowledge with others.
• You enjoy independently solving complex challenges.
• You have fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
