About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to support mission-critical federal programs. The ideal candidate will design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data platforms supporting large-scale analytics, reporting, and operational intelligence initiatives.
The candidate should have strong experience with cloud platforms, ETL/ELT processes, big data technologies, database management, and secure data environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Build and optimize data architectures supporting structured and unstructured data
- Integrate data from multiple secure and enterprise systems
- Develop data models, data lakes, and warehouse solutions
- Work with large datasets in cloud and on-prem environments
- Implement data quality, governance, and security best practices
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, DevOps, and Engineering teams
- Automate data ingestion and transformation processes
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize database queries
- Support secure data handling in classified environments
- Create technical documentation and data flow diagrams
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret with SCI Clearance (TS/SCI) required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or related role
- Strong experience with Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks
- Experience with ETL tools and pipeline development
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / Google Cloud
- Experience with: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with data warehousing solutions
- Understanding of data governance and security compliance
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal/government environments
- Knowledge of machine learning pipelines
- Experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
- Certifications preferred: AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Snowflake Certification, Security+
