About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to support mission-critical federal programs. The ideal candidate will design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data platforms supporting large-scale analytics, reporting, and operational intelligence initiatives.

The candidate should have strong experience with cloud platforms, ETL/ELT processes, big data technologies, database management, and secure data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
  • Build and optimize data architectures supporting structured and unstructured data
  • Integrate data from multiple secure and enterprise systems
  • Develop data models, data lakes, and warehouse solutions
  • Work with large datasets in cloud and on-prem environments
  • Implement data quality, governance, and security best practices
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, DevOps, and Engineering teams
  • Automate data ingestion and transformation processes
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize database queries
  • Support secure data handling in classified environments
  • Create technical documentation and data flow diagrams
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret with SCI Clearance (TS/SCI) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or related role
  • Strong experience with Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks
  • Experience with ETL tools and pipeline development
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / Google Cloud
  • Experience with: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions
  • Understanding of data governance and security compliance
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal/government environments
  • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines
  • Experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Certifications preferred: AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Snowflake Certification, Security+
