Data Engineer (AI Focus)

About the job

We are seeking a Data Engineer (AI Focus) to join the Finance & Analytics team at a Fintech company on an on-site basis. In this role, you will design and maintain scalable ETL pipelines, manage large-scale financial datasets, and develop analytics-ready data models that power our AI, ML, and LLM solutions (including RAG and agent-based systems). Working within a collaborative and professional team environment, you will partner closely with finance and analytics stakeholders to evolve our data platform.

Job Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining robust ETL processes on Google Cloud (BigQuery, GCS, Dataproc, Airflow).
• Establishing seamless data integrations across various services and platforms.
• Managing and optimizing large-scale financial and behavioral datasets.
• Contributing to the continuous evolution of our data platform and engineering best practices.
• Constructing analytics-ready data models specifically for AI / ML / LLM systems .
• Deploying AI solutions within data engineering workflows (RAG, autonomous agents).
• Partnering closely with internal analytics and finance teams.

Required Hard Skills and Education

• Degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
• English proficiency is essential.
• Strong command of data pipeline architecture and warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data ecosystems.
• A sincere interest in AI-driven analytics, LLMs, and causal modelling.

Nice to have

• Background in ML or feature engineering.
• Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, PydanticAI ) and vector databases (e.g., Qdrant ).
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Knowledge of embedding models and semantic search.
• Prior experience mentoring team members.
