Data Engineering Manager

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead the architecture, delivery, and day-to-day execution of enterprise data platforms at OneMagnify, with Databricks Lakehouse at the center. This is a hands-on leadership role that sits at the intersection of data engineering, AI enablement, and client delivery. The ideal candidate is someone who can lead teams, own technical direction, and ensure data platforms are built to scale and perform in production environments. You’ll act as a senior technical leader for both internal teams and enterprise clients navigating complex data platform initiatives. This is a great fit for a senior data leader who enjoys balancing hands-on technical oversight, team leadership, and client-facing strategy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics
• At least 2 years of experience in a team leadership role
• Proven hands-on experience with Databricks in production environments, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Spark
• Deep experience with AWS data services such as Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, and Step Functions
• Strong expertise in modern data patterns including Lakehouse architecture, ELT/ETL, streaming, APIs, and pipeline orchestration
• Solid understanding of AI, ML, and GenAI ecosystems and the data requirements for model development and deployment
• Ability to lead technical teams, communicate clearly with client stakeholders, and drive delivery quality across engagements

Location & Schedule

• Applicants must be able to work onsite M-F in Detroit, MI
• Location: Hybrid 2-3 days in Detroit, MI

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $145,000-$160,000 Annually
• Benefit packages for this role are offered.
• Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
