Senior Director of Data Engineering

We are partnering with a leading organization to identify a Senior Director of Data Engineering to lead enterprise data strategy, platform modernization, and large-scale data transformation initiatives.

This is a hybrid role.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead enterprise data engineering strategy, execution, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Build scalable data integration, warehousing, and reporting solutions across multiple business functions.
• Consolidate legacy and regional data environments into unified enterprise platforms.
• Improve data quality, governance, lineage, and operational reliability.
• Drive automation of key financial and operational reporting processes.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to translate needs into scalable solutions.
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing global data engineering teams.
• Establish KPIs, controls, and continuous improvement practices across the function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in data engineering, integration, or enterprise data platforms.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing large teams and strategic programs.
• Strong background in data warehousing, ETL/ELT, cloud platforms, and modern analytics ecosystems.
• Experience leading complex migrations, platform consolidations, and automation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and executive leadership skills.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL, Informatica, SSIS as well as cloud-native data engineering platforms (Databricks, Azure Fabric), ETL/ELT orchestration, and automation frameworks.
• Deep experience in migration and integration of legacy/regional systems and data assets into consolidated, standardized global platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Insurance business systems (Policy, Claims, Finance, Reinsurance), core data structures, and compliance/reporting requirements.
