Key Responsibilities

• Consumer Engineering Leadership: Oversee and guide the Consumer engineering teams, ensuring our technical strategies align with key business goals like customer personalization and omnichannel engagement.
• Team Development: Lead and mentor a dedicated team of Data Engineers, fostering both technical and professional growth.
• Collaborative Architecture: Work with our Sr. Data Architect to ensure all domain-specific engineering efforts meet enterprise technical guidelines and the Medallion architecture framework.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical liaison for Consumer business leads, translating complex data needs into clear engineering action plans.
• Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for code quality, documentation, and automated testing to promote a sustainable and high-performance engineering environment.
• Product Quality Assurance: Ensure successful delivery of top-notch data products within our GCP Medallion architecture.

What You Bring

• Experience: 8+ years in Data Engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Domain Knowledge: Extensive understanding of Customer Data (CRM, Loyalty), Digital/eCommerce analytics, Marketing Metrics, and Store Operations.
• Proficiency in GCP: Practical experience with tools like Google BigQuery and Cloud Composer, including proficiency in SQL and Python for data pipeline creation.
• Modeling Expertise: Familiarity with Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake) and its application within a Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Strategic Vision: Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a proven ability to harmonize immediate goals with the long-term health of data systems.
• Agile Experience: Proven track record in managing agile engineering sprints and handling a dynamic backlog of data features.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emerging Technologies: Interest in integrating Generative AI into our data workflows, such as utilizing LLMs for SQL generation or automated data processes.
