Role Overview

HMG AMERICA LLC is seeking a Data Engineering Tech Lead to lead the hands-on delivery of Snowflake-based data platforms in enterprise and regulated environments. This role involves technical execution, team leadership, and architecture ownership, making it ideal for senior data engineers ready to ensure delivery quality and technical design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, data flow diagrams, and technical design documents
  • Own source-to-target mappings and ensure traceability from design to implementation
  • Contribute to canonical data models and schema harmonization decisions
  • Lead hands-on implementation of Bronze / Silver / Gold data layers on Snowflake
  • Translate architecture into executable designs and guide day-to-day engineering work
  • Review code and pipelines to ensure quality, performance, and standards adherence
  • Mentor engineers and ensure delivery timelines and outcomes
  • Implement Snowflake RBAC, role hierarchies, and least-privilege access controls
  • Align with platform teams on network and access control considerations
  • Support baseline governance such as data quality checks and lineage enablement
  • Act as the primary technical contact for delivery discussions
  • Proactively identify risks, assumptions, and data issues

Skills

  • Strong experience in data engineering and Snowflake
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL and Python
  • Experience with data modeling and medallion architecture
  • Ability to produce TDDs, data models, mappings, and flow diagrams
  • Experience leading teams in client-facing delivery environments
  • Strong ownership and accountability mindset
  • Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive, structured, and delivery-focused approach
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with GMP / FDA-aligned data expectations such as auditability and traceability
  • Experience working with ERP, manufacturing, supply chain, or quality data
