About

Vema is developing Engineered Mineral Hydrogen, a novel approach to producing clean hydrogen through stimulated chemical reactions in ultramafic rock formations. We generate large volumes of lab, field, and geospatial data across our operations and we’re looking for a skilled and curious Data & IT Scientist to support the development and management of our data infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in maintaining databases of lab and field results while building intelligent tools to unlock their full value.

What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain the system of record for field, lab, and ops data, including ingest pipelines so results flow into a single queryable database
• Build self-service analytical tools for the technical, commercial and finance teams
• Analyze data, find correlations and statistical relationships using AI-solutions among others
• Administer IT systems and security and serve as internal point of contact for IT issues

What You Bring

• Degree in data science or a strong demonstrated track record in the field
• Experience with AI tools and AI-driven data processing solutions
• Proficiency in MySQL (PostgreSQL/PostGIS preferred), Python, Git, Linux basics, scripting, cloud provisioning, C++
• General familiarity with IT systems and tools (e.g., server maintenance, software environments)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Working proficiency in English; French strongly preferred
