Data Leader – Data Engineering & Architecture (m/f/d)

A global organisation is expanding its Data & AI capability in Germany and is hiring a senior technical leader to define the data architecture vision, lead large‑scale engineering initiatives, and enable advanced analytics and AI at enterprise scale.

This is a high‑impact role for someone who can combine strategic thinking with deep technical leadership. You will be shaping modern data platforms while guiding high‑performing engineering teams.

What You’ll Lead

• Define the data architecture strategy and translate business goals into actionable engineering roadmaps.
• Partner with C‑suite and senior stakeholders to influence data‑driven decision‑making.
• Architect modern data platforms across distributed systems, cloud environments, streaming, governance, and security.
• Lead technical direction across multi‑domain programmes, ensuring quality, scalability, and compliance.
• Mentor engineering teams across data pipelines, modelling, warehousing, MLOps, and ML productionisation.
• Drive delivery excellence and uphold engineering standards across complex, mission‑critical initiatives.

What You Bring

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data architectures and platforms.
• Deep hands‑on expertise in distributed systems, cloud data platforms, modern data engineering tooling, and real‑time/streaming architectures.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience enabling advanced analytics and AI in production environments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate confidently in complex, ambiguous environments.
• Demonstrated leadership in coaching and developing high‑performing engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills in German (C1) and English.
