Data Governance & Process Mapping Consultant (W2 Contract – Onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Governance & Process Mapping Consultant for a W2 contract position in Matawan, NJ. This role requires a strong background in data governance, data quality, and process mapping, with the ability to work onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Define ownership, policies, and controls within Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Management frameworks.
• Map processes and document data flows using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro.
• Perform data quality assessments and implement control frameworks.
• Analyze end-to-end data lifecycles, identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies.
• Design and implement governance models, data standards, and KPI/monitoring frameworks.
• Manage stakeholders, conduct interviews, and collaborate with business and technical teams.
• Create deliverables such as data inventories, process maps, control assessments, and implementation roadmaps.
• Work in cross-functional environments with a consulting mindset.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Management frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
• Proven expertise in process mapping and data flow documentation using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro.
• Hands-on experience performing data quality assessments (accuracy, completeness, timeliness) and implementing control frameworks.
• Ability to analyze end-to-end data lifecycle across multiple systems and identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies.
• Experience designing and implementing governance models, data standards, and KPI/monitoring frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience conducting interviews and working with business + technical teams.
• Ability to create clear deliverables including data inventory, process maps, control assessments, and implementation roadmaps.
• Experience working in cross-functional environments (IT, operations, business teams) with a consulting or transformation mindset.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, data analysis, or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working onsite 5 days/week in Matawan, NJ on a long-term W2 contract engagement.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $40 - $50 (W2 contract)
