About

The Data Management & Governance Consultant - Technical Writer will play a pivotal role in enhancing and developing Data Management capabilities across the enterprise. The primary focus will be on improving metadata quality in Collibra and bolstering overall data literacy. This individual will be the final reviewer of assets within our metadata management tool (Collibra). A strong background in technical writing is essential for this role, as you will be responsible for proofreading, editing, and communicating with the original authors to ensure descriptions are clear and comprehensible to audiences without prior data background. You will also work to ensure consistency in metadata.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to undertake various tasks and projects.
  • Proofread and edit metadata-related content in Collibra (no technical expertise in Collibra required).
  • Develop a writing style-guide specifically for Collibra.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to document processes.
  • Conduct audits of existing content in Collibra to ensure compliance with the style guide.
  • Ensure proper adherence to processes and maintenance of documentation.
  • Support the maintenance of metadata records in Collibra as part of Enterprise Data Management initiatives.
  • Assist data stewards with the effective use of Collibra.
  • Contribute to the development of learning materials for educational purposes.
  • Focus on enhancing metadata quality and drive continual improvements.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues on best practices related to metadata management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial.
  • Solid understanding of metadata practices.
  • Data-focused mindset.
  • Experience with Collibra is preferred but can be learned on the job.
  • Knowledge in metadata management is advantageous.
  • Data Management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with workflow development.

Compensation & Benefits
