Data Migration Engineer / SQL Developer

About the Role

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Data Migration Engineer / SQL Developer to strengthen a software engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the further development and optimization of data migration services and will support the connection of new customers to modern tax solutions.

Responsibilities

• Further development and optimization of data migration services
• Support in connecting new customers to modern tax solutions
• Design, optimization, and scaling of migration routes
• Analysis of complex data structures and their dependencies to develop and implement intelligent mapping logic and automated cleansing strategies
• Development of automated tests to ensure data integrity and data quality throughout the entire migration process
• Preparation of migration and test data
• Monitoring of processing procedures and analysis of error patterns to develop sustainable solutions together with the team
• Active contribution to the continuous further development of development processes, tools, and best practices

Qualifications

• Several years of practical experience in creating and optimizing complex SQL queries
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data management, and data architecture
• Good knowledge of SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server
• Experience in analyzing complex data structures and identifying anomalies
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with complex legacy databases
• Analytical mindset and initiative for optimizing data queries and processing times
• Knowledge of Python or experience with Python frameworks is an advantage
• Pragmatic, hands-on approach to work
