NN is on a journey to become a data‑driven organization. As a Data Platform Engineer, you play a key role in this transformation by combining your skills in data engineering and DevOps on an Azure / Databricks data platform. You are crucial to the development and automation of our new data platform, making use of the latest technologies and tooling. Together with your fellow engineers, you build new functionalities every day to optimally serve our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further develop the platform, focusing on infrastructure and automating/improving the deployment process.
  • Design, improve, secure, and automate the entire CI/CD pipeline.
  • Coach team members in DevOps engineering, CI/CD, SDLC, and related topics.
  • Collaborate with fellow data engineers to enable new data integrations.
  • Develop, introduce, and automate new components to provide effective solutions for data modellers and data scientists.
  • Continuously look for ways to make it as easy as possible for colleagues to extract data from the platform, increasing their efficiency.
  • Work extensively with Azure DevOps and Git; programming primarily in Python, Terraform, and Bash.

Requirements

  • Medior+ / Senior‑level experience as a Platform Engineer.
  • Strong experience with the public cloud, preferably Azure (Azure certifications such as AZ‑104 or AZ‑400 are a strong plus).
  • Programming experience in Python and Bash / PowerShell.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Solid experience in building a data platform.
  • Strong drive to dive deep into technology and quickly master new concepts.
  • Strong focus on maintainability and stability of data platforms.
  • Automation‑first mindset.
  • Experience with networking, security, and identity & access management.
  • Experience with or strong knowledge of data engineering tools and best practices.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory is a significant plus.
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • At least B1 level English; fluent Dutch is a plus.

You will join a team of four engineers, each with their own area of expertise, and work closely with the Product Owner and Data Architect. Knowledge sharing and mutual support are integral parts of the culture.
