Overview

The Data Office Department is responsible for driving and continuously improving how data is managed across the organization. The team ensures compliance with enterprise data aggregation, reporting standards, and evolving regulatory requirements.

The department operates across five key pillars:

  • Data Governance
  • Data Management
  • Data Quality
  • Data Solutions

This role will primarily support Data Privacy & Protection initiatives.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Canada Chief Data Officer and work closely with the Data Privacy & Protection team. This role will focus on implementing data privacy frameworks, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Data Privacy & Governance:

  • Support development and implementation of data privacy policies, procedures, and training
  • Collaborate with business and functional teams to ensure proper data governance
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
  • Maintain inventory of data processing activities and documentation
  • Deliver privacy awareness training to employees
  • Identify and assess data-related risks, including third-party/vendor risks
  • Recommend mitigation strategies to ensure compliance

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with business, technology, and data teams
  • Support execution and continuous improvement of the data office framework

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5–7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong background in data governance, data privacy, or data management
  • Experience with large datasets and senior-level reporting

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with data frameworks, controls, or process improvement

Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, self-driven and adaptable
  • Strong communication skills (English & French preferred)
