Job Summary

The Data Protection Presales Solutions Engineer will be a cloud security expert on the front lines with customers. Taking a consultative approach to security projects, the engineer will possess a holistic understanding of how security technology can enable business growth. This remote position may require occasional office visits in Austin, Texas, based on business needs as determined by SHI management.

Role Description

You will:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within client organizations, such as CIOs, CSOs, CISOs, Security Engineers, and procurement teams, to enhance customer relationships and understand their objectives.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of our service offerings through company training and self-study.
  • Educate sales teams on cybersecurity solutions through individual and group training sessions.
  • Stay informed on the latest technology, trends, and market conditions through continued research.
  • Engage in self-study and hands-on work in lab facilities to enhance expertise.
  • Create collateral to support cybersecurity sales initiatives.
  • Develop use cases in the SHI lab that will assist in sales efforts.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, HITRUST, and CIS.
  • Intermediate technical proficiency in identity governance and security (DLP, CASB, SWG, DSPM, USB control, file encryption, and ransomware recovery solutions).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and sell complex technical products, articulating value to customers.
  • Familiarity with mainstream technologies: Proofpoint, Mimecast, Abnormal, Rubrik, Varonis, Sentra, Cohesity, etc.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years in a technical cybersecurity role.
  • 3+ years in Security Pre-Sales Consulting.
  • Advanced certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: CISSP, Relevant GIAC Cert, SSCP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, CPT, CWSP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, or equivalent certifications.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations up to 20% for meetings and engagements.
  • Extended hours may be required for special projects.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $230,000, which includes base salary and bonus. Compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and market location. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
