Position Overview

In this role, you will play a critical part in managing a team focused on the accurate and timely reporting of data for state and federal Department of Education submissions. You will oversee major departmental projects and recurring reporting processes, ensuring that all data sets meet rigorous quality standards. The ideal candidate is skilled in K-12 reporting and thrives in collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performance team of 4-6 Data Integration Analysts, including recruitment, setting expectations, and fostering professional growth.
  • Work closely with each analyst to establish clear agreements with schools and define roles and responsibilities through RACI charts.
  • Coach your team by reviewing project updates, ensuring data accuracy, and enhancing reporting processes.
  • Guide analysts in their career progression and provide them with opportunities to build skills in reporting and programming (e.g., SQL, SSRS, Power BI).
  • Coordinate data reporting projects across multiple locations, ensuring effective communication and project management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and quality.
  • Develop SQL queries and Power BI reports in support of state requirements and corporate needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with colleagues and school personnel on project priorities and deliverables.
  • Innovate solutions that leverage automation and AI to enhance workflow and data validation.
  • Develop and implement procedures for reporting to external stakeholders, including governmental agencies and funding sources.
  • Manage student, staff, and course data sets, collaborating with school personnel to investigate and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Create ad hoc reports for both internal and external audiences, such as enrollment and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in educational reporting, particularly K-12 and state educational reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with large data sets from diverse sources.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, Smartsheet, etc.) and Student Information Systems.
  • A minimum of 1 year in project management with a proven track record; experience managing teams is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to data management and quality assurance protocols, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
