About the role

About

Join Guidehouse as a Data Solutions Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). You will design, build, and operate robust data pipelines and analytics solutions on the Advana platform, using cutting-edge technologies like Databricks and Palantir Foundry. Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering comprehensive, decision-grade financial and operational insights. We are looking for candidates with substantial experience creating scalable data solutions in secure federal cloud environments, particularly those with expertise in financial, budgetary, and execution data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines utilizing Databricks (Spark, PySpark, SQL) to ingest, transform, and organize structured and semi-structured data from various DoD source systems.
  • Optimize data models, Delta tables, and curated datasets for financial reporting, PPBE workflows, and mission analytics within Advana and downstream Foundry applications.
  • Create, maintain, and implement Foundry pipelines, transforms, and data products that ensure traceability, lineage, and consistent analytics workflows for DoD stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD workflows and version-controlled data engineering practices using Git-based repositories, ensuring compliance with DoD security protocols.
  • Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions in secure AWS and Azure environments, aligned with IL4/IL5 architectures and utilizing containerization where applicable.
  • Collaborate with functional experts, financial analysts, platform engineers, and governance teams to ensure that data pipelines adhere to DoD standards, business rules, and controls.
  • Implement and oversee robust data quality, reconciliation, validation, and monitoring systems to maintain financial accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Support the modernization and migration of data, particularly in onboarding legacy financial systems and transitioning workloads to Databricks and Foundry.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to pipelines, performance, and data integrity, ensuring reliable operation of mission-critical systems.
  • Document data flows, engineering designs, and operational processes for compliance and knowledge transfer purposes.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in data engineering, analytics platforms, and DevSecOps best practices that are relevant to the DoD.
