Our client in the data management sector is an established company with a complex data landscape and a clear focus on data-driven decision-making processes. As part of ongoing transformation and optimization initiatives, the client is seeking experienced freelance support in the area of Data Management.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing data sources, data flows, and data quality across various platforms
• Evaluation of data providers and external data solutions, as well as support in selecting suitable partners
• Identification of gaps, redundancies, and optimization potentials in existing data structures
• Close collaboration with internal data, IT, and analytics teams
• Definition of data models, KPIs, and data requirements in conjunction with business departments
• Creation of specifications, taxonomies, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) in coordination with business departments
• Accompanying implementation from conception to productive use, including coordination of changes in scope and priorities
• Support in the introduction and implementation of data governance models
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards and frameworks
• Moderation of data workshops and requirements gathering sessions
• Creation of decision documents and handling escalations in case of target, scope, or governance conflicts

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional experience in data projects
• Very good understanding of data architectures and analytics setups
• Experience as a Data Consultant, Data Product Consultant, and/or Data Governance Consultant
• Ability to connect strategic requirements with data and infrastructure projects
• Experience along the entire data product lifecycle, including handover to operations and clearly defined ownership structures
• Demonstrable expertise in building processes for:
  • Data Transformation
  • Data Structures and Metadata Management
  • Dependency and Workflow Management
• Strong team skills and the ability to independently develop viable solutions
• Familiarity with agile working methods
• Ideally, experience in the financial or banking sector
• Optional knowledge of financial, economic, and market indicators
• Optional experience with common data providers and market-standard data platforms
• Very good English skills; German or another CEE language is an advantage, but not strictly required.
