About
Model Works is an architectural presentation and analysis studio based in Dublin. Our team is expanding and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Daylight and Sunlight Analysis Technician to join us.
The Role
As a Daylight and Sunlight Analysis Technician, you’ll be responsible for conducting technical assessments of natural light in proposed and existing developments. You’ll play a critical role in supporting planning applications, design development, and environmental impact assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daylight, sunlight and overshadowing analysis using industry-standard software.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and visualisations for clients and planning authorities.
- Collaborate with architects, planners, and environmental consultants to integrate daylight strategies into the design process.
- Stay updated on relevant planning policy and industry guidance (e.g. BRE Guidelines).
- Support internal QA processes and data integrity in modelling and reporting.
Requirements
- A background in architecture, environmental design, building physics, or a related field.
- Excellent Revit skills essential.
- IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong analytical, modelling, and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
