Model Works is an architectural presentation and analysis studio based in Dublin. Our team is expanding and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Daylight and Sunlight Analysis Technician to join us.

The Role

As a Daylight and Sunlight Analysis Technician, you’ll be responsible for conducting technical assessments of natural light in proposed and existing developments. You’ll play a critical role in supporting planning applications, design development, and environmental impact assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daylight, sunlight and overshadowing analysis using industry-standard software.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and visualisations for clients and planning authorities.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, and environmental consultants to integrate daylight strategies into the design process.
• Stay updated on relevant planning policy and industry guidance (e.g. BRE Guidelines).
• Support internal QA processes and data integrity in modelling and reporting.

Requirements

• A background in architecture, environmental design, building physics, or a related field.
• Excellent Revit skills essential.
• IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
• Strong analytical, modelling, and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
