Purpose Of Function
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for driving productivity, efficiency improvements, process optimization, and structured industrial engineering activities across the plant. The role covers technology transfer and classical IE tools such as VSM, time & motion studies, method analysis, as well as supporting New Product Development (NPD), layout planning, workstation design, and development of industrial assets such as tools, fixtures, and machines. The position also supports variant configuration management and investment planning.

Description (responsibilities/roles)
Classical Industrial Engineering Activities • Technology transfer • Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for current and future state processes. • Perform time studies, motion studies, and method analysis for productivity improvements and maintain data. • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard times, and work standards. • Drive CIP, waste elimination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
New Product Development (NPD) & Variant Configuration • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams for smooth NPD industrialization. • Define process flow, cycle times, and layout requirements for new products. • Manage variant configuration and ensure manufacturability of new variants. • Support proto builds and validation through IE methodologies.
Layouts, Workstations & Capacity Planning • Design or optimize plant layouts, line layouts, and workstation ergonomics. • Perform capacity planning, line balancing, and resource optimization. • Ensure material flow, space utilization, and ergonomic standards are met.
Investment Roadmaps & Asset Development • Create and maintain 5 years investment roadmaps for tools, fixtures, machines, and equipment. • Lead the local development of jigs, fixtures, tools, and special-purpose machines (SPM). • Coordinate with suppliers, toolmakers, and internal stakeholders regarding specs and trials. • Support capital budgeting, justification, and return‑on‑investment (ROI) analysis.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Documentation • Work closely with production, planning, quality, maintenance, and procurement. • Prepare detailed IE documentation, layouts, work instructions, and reports. • Support digitalization initiatives in IE. • Conduct training for operators and supervisors on new methods or improvements.

Requirements of position:
Description • Qualification / Education • Bachelor’s or masters degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering. • Working experience • 10- 15 years of experience in Industrial Engineering in a manufacturing setup. • Experience in Technology transfer, Greenfield/ Brown field building projects (Preferred) • Exposure to lean manufacturing, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies. • Skills • Strong knowledge of classical IE tools (VSM, time study, MTM, method analysis). • Expertise in layout design, CAD tools, SAP and workstation ergonomics. • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows. • Strong analytical thinking, structured approach, and problem‑solving capability. • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
