Design Engineer F/H/X

(Permanent Contract)

Nemera is recruiting a new Design Engineer F/H/X to join its innovation and R&D center based in Lyon.

The Design Engineer contributes to the realization of innovation, development, and series life phases, in the management of a technical or design-related activity. They have a scientific approach and manage project documentation according to the New Product Innovation (NPI) process for the design phases.

The position is based in Lyon and reports directly to the Design Manager of the Ophthalmic and Inhalation Devices development pole.

Missions (non-exhaustive list):

Design Activities:

  • Contribute to defining and creating innovative products or concepts, based on engineering principles
  • Detailed design of components and products, including system tolerance analysis
  • Application of appropriate testing approaches to reduce risks in a design
  • Investigations and robustness studies on certain product functions
  • Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DfM) activity
  • Analyze potential product failures and define action plans to resolve these failures
  • Train colleagues on technical and organizational requirements
  • Actively support design qualification, including test development
  • Technical interaction with suppliers
  • Write technical reports and produce high-quality design documentation

Project Participation:

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to create new and innovative solutions
  • Participate in project reviews
  • Participate in shared project activities, such as risk analyses
  • Present results and information to clients if necessary
  • Act as a reference/expert in design activities
  • Contribute to the transfer of the project to other stages, supporting the transfer of designs to manufacturing/operations

The Profile We Are Looking For

  • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering, or product design engineering.
  • Technical background in product design and development (pharmaceutical device ideal) with proven experience in detailed design and product development, ideally 5 years.
  • Knowledge of mass production product design, development, and plastic injection.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Curious and enjoy understanding the physical workings of the world around you.
  • Demonstrate rigor and method.
  • Good technical presentation and writing skills.
  • Experience with CAD software (ideally SolidWorks or Creo) and/or FEA tools (structure, fluid, moldflow,...)
