About Analytics & Simulation (A&S)

In the Analytics & Simulation (A&S) department, we develop and operate IT for the Bundeswehr that is needed for the collection, analysis, consolidation, and utilization of data to achieve information superiority and superior decision-making speed. The department realizes data-centric projects in customer and in-house operations. From the evaluation of the latest scientific findings in the research fields of AI and Data Science to the implementation of crisis-relevant enterprise solutions for several thousand users, we cover the entire spectrum of modern data-driven systems. Our focus is on Data Science, AI & Machine Learning, their architectures, and the associated full-stack software development.

Responsibilities

• Planning, conception, realization, and further development of an on-premise cloud-native application platform for the crisis preparedness information system of our client, the Bundeswehr.
• Automated deployment of containerized applications through CI/CD in an agile team.
• Monitoring and optimization of the platform through the use of observability tools.
• Systematic hardening through the implementation of IT security requirements.
• Expansion and maintenance of the technical documentation for the area of responsibility.
• Preparation and support of operations.

Requirements

• Completed university degree in computer science combined with more than 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the development or operation of business applications in security-sensitive industries such as banking, insurance, auditing, or military.
• Several years of experience in DevOps and CI/CD architecture (e.g., using tools like GitLab, ArgoCD, Nexus, Artifactory) and concepts like GitOps and Infrastructure as Code, as well as in container virtualization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Several years of practical knowledge in interfaces and synchronous/asynchronous communication protocols (HTTP/REST, GraphQL, Kafka), as well as in Java Spring Boot and database integration using JPA, and in frontend React(JS) is desirable.
• Good knowledge in the area of Identity & Access Management, ideally using KeyCloak or similar.
• Good knowledge in the area of certificates and DNS.
