Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer

Our Client is looking for a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to support large scale cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and OpenShift platform initiatives within a public sector environment. The ideal candidate will have strong AWS expertise, hands on Terraform and Ansible experience, and a deep understanding of modern DevOps practices, security, and cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure including VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudFront, IAM, and Security Groups
• Architect and maintain secure multi account AWS environments aligned with AWS Well Architected Framework principles
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terraform Cloud
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows
• Operate and support Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) clusters
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Azure DevOps
• Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
• Integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and monitoring into deployment pipelines
• Manage cloud security, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation
• Build observability and monitoring solutions using AWS CloudWatch
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and platform reliability improvements
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural records

Required Skills

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management
• Hands on experience with Terraform and Terraform Cloud
• Strong Ansible automation and configuration management experience
• Experience administering OpenShift ROSA environments
• Experience with Docker and containerized platforms
• CI/CD pipeline experience using GitLab CI or Azure DevOps
• Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD
• Strong Linux administration experience including Ubuntu and CentOS
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Experience with monitoring, security, and cloud governance best practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with Sentinel or OPA policy as code
• Experience with CloudTrail, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and Security Hub
• Experience with Helm, Kustomize, and Kubernetes security practices
• Public sector experience is considered an asset
