About the role

Our client is seeking a manager to lead an enterprise enablement team focused on DevSecOps, cloud, and engineering enablement.

Role Overview

This role will own and drive DevSecOps engineering, CI/CD practices, and modern developer enablement practices across the enterprise. The Manager will lead approximately 20–25 engineers across four teams, while advancing the cloud transformation journey from on-premises infrastructure toward a dual AWS and GCP strategy. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, hands-on leader with strong cloud and CI/CD depth and a proven track record of developing teams and driving engineering culture change.

Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a best-in-class platform engineering team grounded in modern DevOps practices, delivering against KPIs in an agile, collaborative environment
  • Own and evangelize CI/CD strategy and tooling, driving adoption of GitLab-native pipelines including integrated security scanning across all engineering teams
  • Champion cloud strategies, accelerating migration away from on-premises infrastructure
  • Oversee infrastructure-as-code and configuration management practices
  • Lead containerization strategy and operations across environments
  • Provide leadership and direction operating systems teams, evolving practices and capabilities over time
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior engineering and technology leadership on platform strategy, risks, and investment tradeoffs
  • Drive team and talent development, including thoughtful organizational evolution as cloud capabilities and team size grow

Qualifications

  • Have 7–10+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps — with meaningful team leadership experience at the lead of manager level
  • Have directly led engineering teams and coached individuals to improve performance in fast-paced, transformational environments
  • Bring hands-on experience with cloud transformation — ideally having driven or supported a migration from on-premises to public cloud (AWS and/or GCP preferred)
  • Have practical depth with CI/CD tooling — GitLab, pipeline design, and DevSecOps integration in particular
  • Are well-versed in infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform, Ansible) and container orchestration (EKS, OpenShift/Kubernetes)
  • Are a strong communicator who can bridge technical and business conversations at multiple levels of an organization
  • Have a talent-first mindset — you’ve built followership, developed teams, and know how to evolve talent as organizational needs shift
