About the role
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to help build and scale a secure, reliable DevOps platform. This role is focused on enabling efficient software delivery while ensuring high system performance, scalability, and resilience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and shared platform services to support consistent and scalable software delivery
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- Define, measure, and track reliability metrics (SLIs/SLOs) to drive performance and operational improvements
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to proactively detect issues and reduce response times
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment processes, and operational workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Identify and remediate performance, scalability, and reliability bottlenecks across systems and pipelines
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed reliability, security, and resiliency into system architecture and design
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime
- Contribute to capacity planning and ensure systems scale in line with business demand
- Enhance and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related roles
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Monitor
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar platforms
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability practices
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and DevOps environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing SLI/SLO frameworks and reliability engineering practices
- Knowledge of GitOps workflows and modern deployment strategies
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure
- Experience with performance tuning and cost optimization in Azure
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert

Candidate Requirements
- Candidates must be within a one hour commute to Wilmington, Delaware and come out of a very large enterprise.
- Candidates also need to have recent projects in the NY, NJ, Delaware or PA area.
