Our client, a fast-paced technology startup, is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their core engineering team in Jos, Plateau, NG. This role is critical for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, cloud technologies, and automation tools. You will be responsible for automating deployments, managing infrastructure, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting production issues.
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
- Managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Ensuring system security through best practices and regular audits.
- Collaborating with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Managing containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Developing scripts for automation tasks.
- Participating in on-call rotation to support production systems.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest DevOps tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a DevOps or System Administration role.
- Strong proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
