DevOps Engineer, Fire TV - Berlin

DESCRIPTION

Fire TV is one of Amazon's most successful consumer products, delivering entertainment experiences to tens of millions of customers worldwide. The Fire TV Experience (FTVX) team in Berlin is looking for a Systems Development Engineer to own the CI/CD infrastructure, release engineering, and developer tooling that powers Fire TV software delivery.

You will design, build, and operate the systems that enable engineering teams to ship high-quality Fire TV features reliably and at scale — spanning multiple OS versions and device families.

This role sits at the intersection of release engineering, infrastructure automation, and developer productivity, and offers the opportunity to directly impact how one of Amazon's flagship products reaches customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting multi-branch release workflows across multiple OS versions and device platforms

• Automate release engineering processes including code submission, version management, artifact signing, and deployment orchestration

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation) for pipeline automation, serverless functions, and monitoring infrastructure

• Build and operate test execution platforms including device farms, emulator environments, and automated test scheduling systems

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for build and release health — including automated notifications and operational dashboards

• Monitor and triage build system failures, deployment issues, and release blockers as part of an oncall rotation

• Create developer productivity tools that reduce manual operational toil and enable engineering teams to self-serve

• Manage physical and test device infrastructure, including device provisioning and lab operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development

• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

• Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java

• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
