DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) – GitLab CI/CD & Repository Migration

About the customer

In this role, you will support the further development of the existing DevOps landscape with a focus on repository migrations, automation, and CI/CD optimization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the migration of existing multi-repository structures into a scalable monorepo architecture
• Analyze existing development and build processes and define suitable migration strategies
• Conceive, implement, and optimize modern CI/CD pipelines with GitLab
• Develop and use modular pipeline components for standardization and reusability
• Integrate and automate Yocto-based build processes within the CI/CD environment
• Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and platform teams
• Ensure best practices in versioning, testing, build management, and deployment
• Support performance optimization of build and release processes

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering environment
• Very good knowledge of Git and experience with repository strategies (Monorepo / Multirepo)
• In-depth experience with GitLab CI/CD, including YAML configurations, runner management, and pipeline design
• Experience with modular CI/CD concepts and reusable pipeline components
• Practical knowledge of the Yocto Project and embedded Linux build systems
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker
• Good knowledge of Linux systems, shell scripting
• Experience in build optimization, caching, parallelization, and artifact management
• Structured and analytical approach to work
• High initiative and strong team and communication skills
• Fluent German language skills
