About the role
About
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join a long‑term, complex technology programme focused on building and operating highly secure, highly available, and fully automated IT platforms. In this role, you will be part of an operations and project delivery team, contributing to the setup, stabilization, and continuous improvement of modern infrastructure and platform services.
This position is offered on a Try & Hire basis, with a clear intention to transition into a permanent role upon successful collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the build‑up and establishment of operational services within a complex IT landscape
- Operate, maintain, and optimize virtualized and cloud‑ready infrastructures
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across operations, engineering, networking, and security
- Ensure systems are operated according to high security, availability, and reliability standards
- Create and maintain clear and structured technical documentation
Your Profile
- Completed EFZ qualification in Computer Science
- Strong motivation to develop further in a complex technical environment
- Solid knowledge of VMware (vSphere / vCenter)
- Hands‑on experience with Windows Server 2019 / 2022
- Practical experience with MECM / SCCM
- Strong networking knowledge, including:
- MPLS, BGP, Segment Routing
- IPsec VPNs, IPv6, Multicast
- Experience with Cisco IOS XE and IOS XR
- Confidence in creating and maintaining technical documentation
- German at C1 level (spoken and written)
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with or exposure to:
- CyberArk
- RHEL 8/9
- Red Hat OpenShift
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft PKI, and Satellite
- Experience integrating and managing storage solutions, ideally NetApp MetroCluster
- Practical experience in system hardening

- This role is intended as Try & Hire; candidates should be seeking permanent employment with our customer
- Work location is on‑site in Bern
- Security clearance (PSP) or minimum 5 years of residence in Switzerland is required
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Switzerland
