Your Role

As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) in the DevEx Team, your goal is to make the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) as intuitive and efficient as possible for our developers. You are the enabler who eliminates friction points in software delivery. You develop the features of our IDP that enable teams to bring applications to the cloud quickly and independently. Depending on your place of residence, you will either work twice a week with your team at the headquarters in Erkrath or you will have the opportunity to work up to 100% remotely.

Responsibilities

• You will conceptualize and implement self-service functions within our Internal Developer Platform as well as high-performance CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• You will also establish modern deployment workflows using ArgoCD.
• You will support teams in taking full responsibility for their services – from the initial code commit to stable operation in the cluster.
• As a mentor, you will actively coach development teams and impart best practices in cloud-native development and deployment strategies.
• You will also automate application deployment with Helm.
• You will act as a service-oriented link between development and operations and continuously improve the tools of the developer journey.

Qualifications

• You have many years of professional experience in software development or the DevOps environment with a strong focus on automation.
• You are familiar with the confident use of GitLab CI, Helm, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Terraform / OpenTofu.
• High service orientation and pronounced mentoring skills to effectively transfer knowledge to the teams characterize you.
• You have a passion for simplifying processes and creating "self-service" infrastructures.
• Ideally, you have an interest in databases and want to develop further in this area.
• So that you can communicate well with your team, you have very good German skills (from C1) and good English skills (from B2).
