DevOps Engineer Storage Backup

About Our Client

For our client in the telecommunications industry in Bern, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and open-minded DevOps Engineer Storage Backup.

Our client is accompanying one of the largest and most security-critical digitalization initiatives in Switzerland. The goal is the setup, operation, and continuous further development of a highly secure, highly available, and resilient private cloud platform. In this environment, you will work on a crisis-resistant ICT infrastructure of national relevance and actively contribute your know-how in the DevSecOps environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Operation, further development, and automation of storage and backup solutions in the DevSecOps model
• Responsibility for stable and secure storage services within a highly secure private cloud environment
• Installation, configuration, administration, and performance optimization of storage and backup systems
• Operation and further development of NetApp storage solutions and Commvault backup technologies
• Ensuring backup, restore, and archiving processes, including tests and continuous optimization
• Participation in the ITIL-oriented operating model (Service Requests, Incidents, Monitoring & Events, Changes, Continuous Improvement, as well as Knowledge Management including technical documentation and operating manuals)
• Automation of operational tasks using scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Active participation in knowledge building, process optimization, and the use and further development of tools
• Close collaboration with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other technical teams

Your Profile

• Several years of practical experience in storage management and with backup solutions
• Degree in Computer Science (university or vocational training) with several years of professional experience or equivalent training and further education as a career changer
• In-depth knowledge of NetApp technologies (installation, operation, administration, performance tuning)
• Very good experience with Commvault (data backup, recovery, archiving)
• Solid understanding of SAN/NAS architectures and protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB, and iSCSI
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Knowledge in the area of cloud storage and hybrid infrastructures
• Experience in monitoring, error analysis, and troubleshooting complex storage environments
• Strong social skills and a results-oriented and self-reliant way of working
• High degree of initiative and enjoyment in collaborating with customers and interdisciplinary teams
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
• Impeccable background check, and resident in Switzerland for at least the last 5 years
