About the role

About

The University Hospital Zurich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland. Over 8,000 employees are committed to the well-being of our patients every day. Over 42,000 inpatient treatments and around 600,000 outpatient consultations per year show the great trust in USZ and its employees. With us, you will find a modern, dynamic environment in which you can contribute your technical skills and ideas in a meaningful context.

Your Main Tasks

  • You develop modern, web-based applications and at the same time maintain existing desktop/client applications. You also accompany implementation and integration projects so that new solutions can be technically soundly implemented and operated sustainably.
  • You design and develop stable, integrated backend services to ensure a reliable, performant, and well-connected system landscape.
  • You introduce and further develop modern DevOps practices: CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and modernization of our infrastructure are part of your daily toolbox.
  • We work in a team according to Scrum principles and develop our solutions iteratively.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (FH/Uni)
  • Years of experience in software development and IT operations, ideally in a clinical or regulated environment
  • Very good knowledge of modern web and backend technologies (e.g. C#, Python, PHP, SQL, Docker, Linux/Windows)
  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration, communication and a working day where software, medicine and infrastructure meet
  • Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working

What We Offer You

You will actively shape the digitalization of pathology and contribute directly to medical care and research. A modern, interdisciplinary environment with plenty of room for initiative, creative solutions and innovation awaits you. Flexible working hours, attractive social benefits and diverse opportunities for personal and professional development complete the offer.
