Leidos is seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Software Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance to join our innovative team dedicated to the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization program. Your contributions will be pivotal in centralizing and standardizing Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE). As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, deployment, and maintenance of a cutting-edge containerized microservices architecture, collaborating closely with system administrators, developers, and other software integrators. Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deploying, triaging, and maintaining a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes, with Elasticsearch backend and Kafka messaging.
- Improving and maintaining CI/CD processes and DevOps scripts to facilitate faster development, quicker error detection, and resilient deployments.
- Designing, developing, and supporting scalable, redundant infrastructure for physical and virtualized environments.
- Using Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments in support of new feature requirements.
- Collaborating with System Engineers to create solutions for new features and requirements.
- Providing technical input to systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models in collaboration with the SE team and Architect team.
- Participating in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions, and other collaborative meetings.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 8+ years in software development or related field; 6+ years with a Master’s degree. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- At least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP).
- Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy.
- Experience with container/container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes, and troubleshooting:
- Ingress/Gateway API
- Helm chart design/build
- Pod disruption budgets
- Affinity/anti-affinity rules
- Familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, and eck (Elastic Search).
- GitLab pipeline development experience, including:
- Integration of GitLab CI/CD components
- Integration of GitLab Code Quality reports
- Integration of GitLab Code Coverage/Test reports
- Proficient in navigating Linux OS:
- Knowledge of sysctls for K8s environments
- Experience with FApolicyd and SELinux
- Comfortable with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional planning and task execution.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with systems at scale.
- Knowledge of Agile processes and techniques.
- Experience in development (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java).
- Experience with production/enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with technologies such as:
- Kafka or other message-passing systems (AMQP, JMS)
- Kubernetes monitoring (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana)
- GPU-based Kubernetes
- SALT for deployment automation
- Nexus
