The Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Specialist to join the Altron delivery team supporting Vodacom Financial Services (VFS). The role focuses on operating, maintaining, and evolving the VFS Lending platform, with full ownership of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability across AWS and on‑prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and optimise end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) for Java and .Net microservices
• Implement secure, automated deployments and infrastructure using Terraform (IaC)
• Support platform upgrades and cloud capability development on AWS
• Deliver zero-downtime releases (Blue/Green, Canary, Rolling)
• Provide 2nd & 3rd line application support, incident and problem management
• Drive service availability, performance, monitoring, and observability
• Embed security and resilience into pipelines, platforms, and deployments

Experience & Skills

• 7–10 years’ hands-on DevOps experience (financial services or telco preferred)
• Strong AWS, CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, and Linux experience
• Solid understanding of incident management, release governance, and SLAs
• Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, CloudWatch
• Relevant AWS / DevOps certifications advantageous
