DevOps Senior Specialist

Epitec is seeking an experienced DevOps Senior Specialist for an opportunity with our automotive client in Oakville, ON. As a DevOps Senior Specialist, the candidate will play a pivotal role in building, scaling, and supporting internal CI/CD monitoring and analytics platforms - driving reliability, visibility, and efficiency across enterprise software delivery and major vehicle & product launches.

• This is an ongoing T4 contract with potential for conversion
• This is a hybrid position in Oakville, ON
• This position offers $70.15/hour, 10 days PTO, 10 paid holidays, medical & retirement contributions (if desired)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend REST APIs using Python (FastAPI), SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ
• Develop and enhance frontend dashboards using React 18, TypeScript, Material-UI, and data visualization libraries (Chart.js, Recharts)
• Build interactive analytics views including charts, Gantt-style timelines, drill-downs, and operational dashboards
• Integrate with third-party and internal systems such as Jenkins, GitHub, JIRA, and CI/CD tooling for data collection and reporting
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins multibranch pipelines, Docker image builds, Artifactory publishing, and QA deployments
• Support infrastructure and runtime environments including Docker Compose, Linux VMs, database tuning, and caching strategies
• Write and maintain automated tests using pytest and Jest, and support OpenAPI contract specifications
• Implement and support secure authentication and authorization using JWT and Azure AD (Entra ID)
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver fixes quickly and reliably
• Maintain clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and user guides
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and take shared ownership of quality, reliability, and delivery timelines

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building and deploying full-stack web applications
• Strong backend experience with Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL
• Strong frontend experience with React, TypeScript, Material-UI, and modern JavaScript tooling
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Linux-based environments
• Solid understanding of caching, messaging systems, and distributed application patterns
• Experience writing automated tests and working with API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Familiarity with security best practices including JWT, OAuth2/OIDC, and secrets management
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug using logs, traces, and source code
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and driving work to completion
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and a high sense of accountability
• Bias toward action with a focus on delivering reliable, production-ready software on time
