Excel Sportswear is a custom apparel and promotional products company with several unique advantages and loads of opportunities because our offer is as fresh today as it was 45 years ago. We seek an exceptional person, someone who can join our management group and help build an even bigger future.

We create custom, hand-drawn designs for businesses, schools, construction companies, auto and powersports dealerships, museums, national brands, and organizations across the country. We service 15 core markets while constantly learning about new markets and how we can help them. We call our formula: “The Story of You.” We position ourselves not as another printer: we serve as our clients' partners in promoting their businesses, schools, or organizations. We accomplish this with a team of 18 inside salespeople backed up by a staff of 20 artists- there's no one like us in this industry.

The result is apparel and promotional products people actually love to wear, cherish, and talk about.- retail quality that employees, customers, prospects, and fans will wear and use because they are unusual and cool. We do this every day- there is always new content, always a story for YOU to tell.

For example, the volunteer firefighter's hand-drawn design showcases their new truck. The work we just did for Honda, celebrating 50 years of the Accord. The beautiful hand-drawn graphic we just produced for a major construction company, highlighting their newly finished 14-story building. The 100th anniversary shirt we designed for a major manufacturer. How about the 250th United States birthday celebration design available exclusively to our clients? All original Excel art.

We serve more than 11,000 customers, have an 85% reorder rate, and are the vendor of choice for brands such as Honda, Mack Trucks, and BMW, as well as more than 150 corporate partners.

We are looking for a smart, driven, hands-on marketing professional to help us reach the next level, sharpen our message, build stronger campaigns, support our sales team, and drive substantial sales growth.

The Opportunity

Our work is visual, creative, personal, and highly marketable. We hand-illustrate million-dollar pieces of equipment, tell stories, and even create national promotional programs. For Honda, we have daily orders, design product launch items for Mack Trucks, modernize school mascots, and produce custom apparel that ends up at the top of the customer’s drawer—shirts that get attention—walking Talking Billboards. YOU have shirts you love- those are the type of products we want to create for all of our clients.

We are sitting on years of customer relationships, creative work, and untapped marketing potential.

What You’ll Own

You will work directly with the President and the senior leadership to lead the company’s expansion. Your focus will include:

  • Lead generation and campaign strategy
  • Email marketing, drip sequence campaigns, and customer reactivation
  • CRM/database organization, segmentation, and list quality
  • Website messaging, redesign direction, SEO, and conversion improvement
  • Sales support materials that help our reps open doors and close business
  • Industry-specific campaigns for construction, automotive, schools, museums, corporate accounts, and other growth markets
  • Social media strategy and content direction
  • Marketing copy for emails, landing pages, offers, campaigns, and customer-facing materials
  • Performance tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement

You will not be expected to do everything yourself. We can outsource design, technical work, media buying, video production, and specialized projects when needed.

What we cannot outsource is judgment, ownership, creativity, urgency, and leadership.

Who We’re Looking For

We want someone highly focused, articulate, curious, organized, and driven by success. You do need to fully understand how marketing creates attention, interest, trust, leads, conversations, and sales.

Strong candidates will have experience with several of the following:

  • Digital marketing or growth marketing
  • Lead generation
  • Email campaigns and drip sequences
  • CRM/database marketing
  • Website optimization, SEO, landing pages, and conversion improvement
  • Copywriting for email, web, campaigns, and social media
  • Social media strategy and content planning
  • Campaign analytics and performance reporting
  • Working with vendors, freelancers, agencies, or internal creative teams
  • Turning business goals into practical marketing campaigns

We are especially interested in someone who combines creative taste with business discipline — someone who can sharpen the message, strengthen the system, and make the results easier to measure.

Location

Because this role works closely with leadership, sales, art, production, and customer service, in-person collaboration is important. We strongly prefer candidates with a comfortable local commute who can be present, engaged, and part of the business’s daily momentum.
