About the Role

The Digital Media & Marketing Specialist plays a central role in shaping NAESP’s digital presence. You will develop and execute marketing campaigns, manage social media strategy, produce high‑quality visual content, and help amplify NAESP’s programs, advocacy, and professional learning initiatives.

Reporting to the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director of Communications, you’ll collaborate across teams to support membership growth, policy work, and educator engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead digital marketing campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and membership.
  • Manage NAESP’s social media channels (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), including content creation, scheduling, analytics, and paid campaigns.
  • Produce compelling visual content—videos, photos, graphics, infographics—to support marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Explore and implement new digital tactics (email marketing, banner ads, SEO‑informed content, etc.) to expand NAESP’s reach.
  • Manage photography and videography projects, including shoots, galleries, slideshows, and short‑form video.
  • Support communications planning and develop promotional timelines for major initiatives.
  • Assist with content development for blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and the NAESP website.
  • Provide guidance to staff and volunteers on digital communications best practices.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital media, digital marketing, journalism, communications, or professional equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience.
  • Proven success managing social media channels and campaigns (organic + paid).
  • Experience with social media tools such as Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Creator Studio, or similar.
  • Strong skills in analytics and reporting (Google Analytics, platform insights).
  • Proficiency with Canva or graphic design tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Experience with digital marketing techniques such as SEO, email marketing, geomarketing, and video marketing.
  • Ability to produce and edit multimedia content (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Audacity, or similar).
  • Knowledge of web design principles and content management systems.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
