McElhanney is a professional services consulting firm, that mainly delivers multi-disciplinary engineering and land surveying services in Alberta and British Columbia and currently has 30+ physical offices in these two provinces.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Transformation Project Manager (ERP & IT Systems) to join our growing enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) in the Vancouver region. As a veteran Senior Project & Program Manager, you will have 15+ years of directly relevant professional experience, bringing a large amount of organization and discipline. The engagement for this role may be structured as either contract or permanent, with final arrangement to be aligned based on candidate expertise, strategic fit, and project requirements.
We are seeking a seasoned Dynamics ERP Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Microsoft Dynamics ERP across our organization. This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation and operational excellence within a professional services consulting business environment.
The ideal candidate has successfully implemented Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions multiple times, bringing deep expertise in program governance, stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end project delivery. You will work closely with a dedicated sponsor from executive leadership, business stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure the ERP program delivers measurable business value.
This position requires an individual who has experience implementing complex IT systems (i.e., commercial platforms) that is focused on transforming the business to drive process redesign, operational effectiveness and organizational change. The successful incumbent will have a strong track record of managing multiple complex activities including working closely with system integrators (“SI”), commercial software vendors and other 3rd party consultants to ensure performance and outcomes based on scope, schedule and budget.
Strong preference for candidates based in Vancouver however we are open to candidates from Calgary, Edmonton or other locations in Western Canada where we have an office.
What You'll Do:
Program/Project Leadership and Team Mentorship
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP (e.g., Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Customer Engagement, or Project Operations).
- Define and manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resources.
- Establish and maintain robust governance structures, including steering committees and executive reporting.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and ERP capabilities.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior project managers, fostering team growth, and ensuring PMO goals are met.
Delivery & Execution
- Oversee system design, configuration, data migration, integrations, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure adherence to Microsoft implementation methodologies.
- Manage implementation partners and vendor performance.
- Lead cutover planning and post-go-live stabilization activities.
- Working with a third-party system implementation partner and Microsoft FastTrack
Governance & Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Maintain strong financial oversight and benefits realization tracking.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish ERP guardrails to manage customization and technical debt
- Support financial reporting to ensure the project is healthy and on track
Strong Business Transformation and Organizational Change Management (OCM) Acumen
- Working with a strong team subject matter experts to build a system that reduces back-end effort to produce measurable improvements.
- You will be working with an OCM lead and supporting the effort to gain adoption from the organization.
What You’ll Bring:
- ERP Implementation: 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager successfully implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems to transform finance, HR, CRM, asset management and project accounting. Software Platform Experience: Microsoft D365 (modules such as Finance & Operations, Customer Engagement, Project Operations, , etc.), Dayforce, and others.
- Project Management: Minimum 15 years of direct experience leading (not supporting) business transformation enabled by IT system implementation in the capacity of a Senior Project and Program Manager. The proponent will come with either direct project management experience supplemented by relevant credentials. Credentials: PMI, PMP designation
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of project-based or professional services organizations (e.g., engineering, construction, consulting).
- Experience managing system integrators and third-party vendors.
- Program and Portfolio Management: 7+ years of direct experience working in an enterprise PMO, accountable and responsible for multiple projects. Credentials: PMI, PMP or ITIL designation
- Project Management Tools: Experience using project management tools to support automation, efficiency and improved productivity. Tools: MS Project, MS DevOps, Microsoft Office 365 (TEAMS, Sharepoint, PPT, Word, Excel, Forms), etc.
- Organizational Change: Experience using OCM principles and concepts to drive business transformation and project activities. Credentials: PROSCI, ADKAR, etc.
- Proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Vendor Management: Minimum 15 years of direct experience managing vendors and specifically system integrators accountable for the delivery of IT system implementation. A strong background in vendor performance and contract management will be critical with experience in negotiation. Credentials: NISCL, SCMP, Certifications in Negotiation, etc.

What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
