The Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering R&D Director passionate about innovation in Transmission & Distribution, to play a key role in the development and evolution of our products and technical solutions.

Reporting to the North American Director of Engineering, you will be central to research, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, quality, operations, and commercial teams. Your mission is to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions aligned with customer needs and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead R&D activities for T&D products, systems, and technologies
• Design, evaluate, and improve products, materials, and engineering processes
• Support product design, testing, validation, and implementation
• Manage engineering and laboratory teams across multiple development projects
• Analyze technical performance data and recommend improvements
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulations
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship

Profile sought

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ)
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, R&D, or product development
• Experience in T&D, utilities, power systems, or related industrial sectors
• Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills
• Ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams
• Bilingual English/French
