About

The Senior Engineering Manager is a senior technology leader responsible for driving engineering excellence, modern architecture, and reliable delivery across complex enterprise platforms. This role leads multiple engineering teams and technical leads, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business and technology strategies for Pega-based workflow and case management solutions and My eSign.

The Senior Engineering Manager partners closely with Product, Architecture, Operations, and Delivery leaders to translate business outcomes into high‑quality technical solutions while building strong, engaged, and high‑performing engineering teams.

Key Accountabilities

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering teams responsible for the design, development, and support of enterprise-grade applications and platforms, including Pega BPM / Case Management solutions.
  • Own end‑to‑end technical delivery for Pega and non‑Pega platforms, ensuring solutions meet functional, non‑functional, security, and resiliency requirements.
  • Drive consistent engineering standards, guardrails, and best practices for Pega design, integration, and deployment.
  • Ensure production stability through strong SDLC, DevOps, and operational readiness practices, including Pega release and upgrade management.

Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Partner with Enterprise and Solution Architects to shape Pega-centric and hybrid solution designs aligned to target-state architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex Pega implementations, including integrations with legacy systems, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Guide decisions related to Pega framework configuration, reuse, performance optimization, and platform scalability.
  • Proactively identify Pega technical debt, platform risks, and modernization opportunities.

People & Talent Leadership

  • Build, lead, and mentor engineering managers, technical leads, and senior engineers, including Pega architects and developers.
  • Develop strong internal Pega capability through coaching, skills development, and succession planning.
  • Foster an engineering culture focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Act as a trusted technology partner for business stakeholders leveraging Pega-based workflows and automation.
  • Translate complex Pega solutions and constraints into clear, executive-ready communication.
  • Support regulatory, audit, and risk requirements related to workflow, decisioning, and case data.

Where You'll Work

You’ll work primarily onsite and your time will be spent at a TD location 4 days a week for meetings, team events and experiences. The hiring manager will provide more information about how this works for their team.

Required

Job Requirements – What You Need to Succeed

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including senior leadership roles.
  • Strong hands-on and leadership experience with Pega Platform (BPM / Case Management), including large-scale enterprise implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading on shore and off shore teams delivering Pega solutions end‑to‑end (design, build, test, deploy, support).
  • Strong understanding of Pega architecture, integrations, performance, and environment management.
  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery models and CI/CD pipelines, including Pega deployments.
  • Hands on work with Angular and familiar with Azure environments.

Preferred

  • Experience leading Pega modernization, upgrades, or platform stabilization initiatives.
  • Financial services or other regulated industry experience.
  • Background as a senior engineer, architect, or platform lead prior to people leadership.
